DESCRIPTION:Thurs March 23 is a full day conference.  March 22 (evening is a welcome reception .  Friday March 24th is an optional day.  See agenda on web site www.autismandthearts.eventbrite.com for more info and to register.    Wick Center\, Daemon College\, 4380 Main Street \, Buffalo NY \nPresentations will focus on the topic of autism and the arts in post-secondary education\, with Keynote Address by Dani Bowman\, a college student with autism who started her own animation company at age 11.\nPresentations will address issues surrounding the difficulties of non-structured learning environments for a neurologically diverse student body\, strategies for adapting the studio to multiple learning styles\, training visual and performing arts faculty in accommodating neurodiversity\, and beginning a support program for non-traditional learners in the studio or theater/rehearsal environments.

DESCRIPTION:Autism Research Institute Online Education \nThis talk covers the importance of self-care for adult caregivers\, and focuses on reasonable dietary and lifestyle choices and appropriate basic nutritional supplementation. We will talk briefly about all of the current dietary trends\, what to believe\, what is based in evidence and research\, and how to make choices for yourself and your family amid all the noise. This talk will review the key components to success with the above strategies by focusing on two major components that wear us down – poor sleep habits and poor nutrition. It will review sleep hygiene and natural sleep support options\, healthy dietary intake for all\, and nutritional supplements to consider for acute support when needed.
