DESCRIPTION:This presentation will discuss fostering self-advocacy skills in young children with disabilities\, setting the stage for their lifelong journey towards empowerment and independence. Grounded in the understanding that self- advocacy is a powerful tool for personal growth\, attendees will explore the significance of early self-advocacy education\, understanding how it lays the foundation for building resilient\, confident\, and proactive individuals. Drawing on research\, real-life case studies\, and best practices\, participants will gain an understanding of the pivotal role caregivers and instructors can play in guiding these young learners to effectively voice their needs\, rights\, and aspirations.
