DESCRIPTION:Once a month\, Au-Some Evenings give children with autism and sensory processing needs\, their friends and family an opportunity to play and learn together in an understanding and supportive environment. In addition to a fun night of play with access to the museum space and exhibits\, we have special programming for families! The evening features themed Art Studio projects\, sensory exploration in our Tinkering Tank\, therapy animals from the SPCA and student volunteers from SUNY Buffalo State’s Exceptional Education program. Parent outreach materials including links for social stories\, child development resources and play tips are always available. We even provide small giveaways or snacks in the lobby\, at the end of the night to help with the transition of leaving the museum. When the Primm family moves to New York City\, their young son Josh struggles to adapt to his new school and new friends. All of that changes when he discovers Lyle – a singing crocodile who loves baths\, caviar and great music-living in the attic of his new home. The two become fast friends\, but when Lyle’s existence is threatened by evil neighbor Mr. Grumps\, the Primm’s must band together with Lyle’s charismatic owner\, Hector P. The films will be presented with the theatre lights on and the sound lowered. \nDipson Theatres\, Inc. acknowledges the needs of social engagement and environmental factors affecting people on the autism spectrum\, and hope that this family film series will create an entertainment venue for families to enjoy new releases in a presentation that will suit unique and special needs. \nUpcoming movie:  11/6: Ron’s Gone Wrong – The story of the wonderful walking\, talking\, digitally connected bot that sweeps the world becoming every kid’s new best friend. But when an eleven-year-old boy ends up with one that doesn’t work\, his attempts to teach it become a hilarious\, heart-warming exploration of what real friendship means in a world of algorithms and social media. \nAdmission is $8.75 per person for both children and adults. DESCRIPTION:Join the Buffalo Autism Project on Sunday\, October 24\, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Explore & More Children’s Museum in Buffalo for some sensory-friendly Halloween fun. \nJoin Buffalo Autism Project for their Fourth Annual Trick or Treat Event.  This is one of their most favorite (and popular events) as they know how challenging trick or treating can be for children on the spectrum and their families and love to provide this experience! Costumes are encouraged but of course\, not mandatory! Again\, this year due to COVID-19 and safety regulations they have decided to move the event to Explore & More.  Your $1 donation reserves your spot.  Admission includes a safe\, stress free trick or treat experience as well as use of the whole museum which will be closed for their group. \nReservations for each time slot are limited to ensure all visitors can maintain proper social distancing.  Timed ticketing helps keep everyone spaced out so please be sure to be on time!
