During an investigation, Child Protective Services’ goals are to determine if a child has been abused or neglected and to protect the child from immediate danger. Parents aren’t often aware that they have legally protected rights during a CPS investigation, or how to access those rights.

Unfortunately, there are times that parents of children with special needs have contact with the court system. In this presentation, the Erie County Assigned Counsel Program Social Worker will explain parental rights and answer questions.
