This presentation will provide a summary to the benefits and disadvantages of 1:1 aides, and finally, emphasize the IEP Team’s responsibilities with regard to considering a request for 1:1 support.

A key question for the IEP team is to consider whether the student with a disability does or does not require one-to-one support to make meaningful progress toward annual goals in the IEP in the least restrictive environment (LRE).
