The Autism Society WNY & Autism Services, Inc.’s Autism Learning Center invite you to attend “Anxiety in Autism:  Understanding Causes and Strategies for Intervention presented by Dr. Lori Jeanne Peloquin, Licensed Psychologist.  This presentation will address the many contributors to anxiety in autism how to approach anxiety from a developmental perspective and implications for treatment in individuals of all ages with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Workshop will focus on:

  • Visual spatial processing
  • Understanding problems in brain connectivity
  • Faulty neuroception (subconscious reception of risk/safety in the environment)
  • The importance of functional emotional developmental capacities or stages that lay a foundation for learning/development
  • Relationship-based strategies in planning interventions
  • Use of medications and cognitive interventions
